Richmond Ramblers was formed in 1984 and currently has over 600 members. We are one of 17 groups of the Surrey Area of The Ramblers. We are based in a London borough that straddles the Thames with Richmond on the Surrey side and Twickenham on the other side (formerly Middlesex).
Our walks programme is a mixture of city walks in Central London, green walks in Greater London and country walks in some eight counties outside London. The country walks include areas of the North Downs, the South Downs, the South Coast and the Chilterns as well as the Thames Path.
There are three walks every week - on Saturdays, Sundays and midweek. All are conveniently organised around public transport and usually start and end at railway stations. They range from 4 - 12 miles in length. (For information about walks difficulty and advice for walkers click here). Lunch can be a pleasant stop at a country pub or a picnic nearby.
Paper or email copies of our four-monthly programme are sent out to our members and associate members. The website version of the programme omits some walks in Central London as these tend to get oversubscribed. Our newsletter Richmond News Roundup is circulated to members three times a year with the programme.
Membership of Richmond Ramblers is open to members of The Ramblers. Members of others Ramblers groups are welcome to join our walks.
Non-members who are thinking of joining Richmond Rambers are very welcome to come along and try a couple of walks before deciding.
